Guavapay is delighted to announce its involvement in the Lord Mayor’s Show on 9 November 2024, celebrating London’s diversity and community spirit. The show will highlight the rich tapestry of London’s cultures and the traditions, progress and vibrant connections that keep London alive.
Collaborating with Local Organisations and Communities
Guavapay will form part of the South Asian float alongside Positive Action Through Creativity (PAC) and the 4C Group. PAC, founded in 2010, is a BAME-led organisation which looks at providing platforms for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds and 4C Group is a property development and management company.
Celebrating Diversity and Community Empowerment
The float will be one of the first to be inspired by and dedicated to the Bangladeshi diaspora. It will feature fourteen young dancers and four drummers who will showcase a traditional Bengali dance. The performers have choreographed a dance called Amar London (My London), celebrating the new Lord Mayor’s arrival and expressing their identity as British Bangladeshis living in London.
The float’s design was largely created by local children, with nine-year-old Yinka Alexander Hounkponou, winner of a local art competition, playing a key role in the concept and presentation.
Committing to Empowerment
With a growing presence in the City of London, Guavapay has worked to develop a global financial ecosystem to empower individuals and businesses, giving them greater control over their financial lives. The All Things Payments app, MyGuava and the B2B platform, MyGuava Business, streamline financial services, making them more accessible and affordable for people who have historically been underserved.
The Lord Mayor’s show will take place at 11am on Saturday, 9 November 2024.
